Sci-Phi Fest | Explorers (1985)

Attention citizens of earth and the greater Philadelphia region, join us as we embark on our Fourth Annual Sci-Phi Film Festival taking place March 27th through March 29th. From time traveling DeLorean’s to invaders from another planet, our mission is to showcase some of the most exceptional science fiction films of all time over the course of 3 days. The Festival continues on Saturday with an iconic '80s family film starring a young Ethan Hawke & River Phoenix- EXPLORERS! Tickets to this one are just $5 and admission is FREE for members of our nonprofit theater and their kids to attend. 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: This sci-fi fantasy film for the young stargazers in your life stars both Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix in their feature film debuts! A group of science obsessed friends build a spacecraft after one of them dreams up the blueprints. Along the way they must evade shady government agents and possible extraterrestrial beings. Fresh off the success of Gremlins — Joe Dante imbues his sense of wonder, charm and dazzling special effects into this cult classic that gained notoriety on VHS.
